I'm in QLD but I believe the Vectrix is rated as a 250cc in all states.

Have you checked with your local Council? I have also asked @ shopping ctrs, car dealers, tyre repair places (they often have accessable ppoints outside), pretty much anywhere I ride. I just tell them it will cost maybe 30-40 cents for a couple hours. Most say OK. I also usually leave some brochures...

  • Had first lesson

Wow, had my first lesson this morning (to get 250cc license). Was great! Wasn't nervous at all which is great! Will probably be a different story when I do one on a PX200 though! gears to change! And of course I'll be sweating during my test too! yikes! Can't wait to get on my own PX200....

[quote user="apex"]Great to read all your posts, as I'm thinking this will be my next buy. I have one question - How much did you pay in insurance? Do you think it was comparable to what you might pay for a petrol 250cc or do you think you paid more because of the higher price of the Vectrix...

Yes, it's AC.Just plug into a normal pwr pt. At the moment it's easier to carry an extension cord. A battery with 150-200 km range would be my ideal at the moment. UK have plug in stops now. It's only a matter of time.

I notice they are now making electric dirt bikes. They are great on the racing circuit - more efficient - no shifting...

  • Re: Vectrix Maxi-Scooter

If I don't see any obvious powerpoints I just go to management and ask them if they have any ppts available. One of the shopping ctrs have a pwr pt right where the motorcycle parking is - very handy!. Here, I plugged in & then went and asked management if it was ok & that it would only cost...

Hi dozer, My distances really vary because I live up in Kuranda (15 klm mostly up hill & mostly a 60km/hr limit), but I'll give a typical example. When I go to Cairns which is about a 33 km trip I only use about 1/2 the battery. And going down hill I don't use much + it regenerates up to...

  • Vectrix Maxi-Scooter

I've had my Vectrix now for 6 months & love it. Anyone else have one of these all electric 2 wheelers? Everywhere I ride I check out power-point potentials.
