    A Happy Nexus Sunday…..

    Big Smile

Took off a bit later than planned,  after washing and taking the Ducati for (another) little spin through RNP in the early morning, then I was glad to take the Nexus out for a cruise through the back of Camden/Picton then across Broughton Pass

Great view across the top… (pardon Nokia pics)

Stopped for a bite at Appin midway at a nice little eatery

After which I back-tracked through to Picton and over Razorback, Camden and back home, just enough to maintain that smile!!

After 500kms yesterday on the Ducati I remain somewhat stuffed, so today’s Nexus ride was a welcome luxury, and I was again surprised how well it goes, definitely one brilliant scooter!!!

    Have I said this before?

    I love that scoot :)

If I ever go to a maxi, I will go Nexus.

Does this scooter make my bum look fast?

A beautiful scooter it is too. A Ferrari badge on one of those beauties wouldn't be out of place IMHO Although I know G-Scoota doesn't agree, but he's not here Wink

I love it too. What a nice ride. I'd be deciding between the nexus and an MP3 if I went maxi...

I love your ride post's too with pictures and a little blurb! love it!

    Another great looking ride Opascoot!

You definitely MUST work for Gilera in a promotional capacity Wink

It definitely makes the prospect of purchasing a Nexus one hell of a fight to resist! Big Smile

Big Smile  well, no actually I have nothing to do with Gilera beyond owning one.... I think I'm just good at conveying my feelings when I have a good time, suppose I was a scholar in a past life maybe LOL

I do find however that in most forums one tends to read a lot of negative ( product problems and ego based) and I really enjoy reading about adventures, trips and positive accounts of fun/riding, love to read reactions to my pic/reports and glad they come across as intended  Big Smile

you know, when I first hopped onto a moped and took it around Amsterdam some 40 odd years ago,  I had a brilliant feeling of excitement and adventure, these days when I throw a leg over one of my (brag brag) three rides I actually still have that same feeling when I take off and am riding somewhere in the countryside...glad I've never really 'grown old' on that oneBig Smile

     Hi guys!

I´m a newcomer on this site and this is my first mail. I have a Nexus 500, too and must say it´s a wonderfull scooter, although I have a dream of GP800 for it´s greater power.

I´m just absolutely jealous reading a happy ride the sun shining and birds singing, the sky is blue and the grass is green. I´ll ride my last longer ride tomorrow this year and it will take over 6 months untill it´s time to feel the speed running in my vains (oops! Surprise I mean figuratively). The whole summer has been quite cold and rainy this yeat in this part of the world and it won´t get much longer when we get first wet snow.

I hope to get many new scooterist friend here and good hints how to get Nexus even better!

Spot on Opa, I really enjoy reading about your rides & the pictures, so much that it has motivated me to do the same at least once a fortnight. It is amazing how a positive post can re focus your thoughts.

    Re: A Happy Nexus Sunday…..

sounds like you had a great ride, You know I saw a Ducati on the M7 today that sat behind me and the Mrs for ages. At first I thought it was you opa but then the guy pulled past and had termi's on his which I dont think you have.

We had both the 500 and the 125 and rode out to camden valley inn where we had lunch.

It was heaps windy here today in sydney which had the scarabeo 125 maxing out at 110 with the mrs on it , I was on the 500 pillioning. But that said it was a fun ride showing what the little 125 scarabeo could do. We came back via narellan rd and the F3 which the Scarabeo just sat on 100km/h easily. A few cars passed us but still from Campbelltown in the Scarabeo 125 handled it nicely.

Ever had a camden valley inn Pie Opa , very nice indeed.

    Re: A Happy Nexus Sunday…..

Yeah - it was windy over this weekend!!! pity I missed you, I was in the area, although briefly as I took the GTR out for the 1st time since getting the Ducati, man that is one big bike LOL, but so smooth and fast... I took it out early through Waterfall/RNP to Stanwell tops, where the cops were swatting riders like flies from both ends... silly boys really, the cops drive through the car park making their presence known yet some of the boys continued to enjoy a rev through the park earning most of them a fine and some points... so glad I got warned... the 1400 can get some speed up through thereConfused
But... I left there after SIX FERRARI's pulled upSurprise and continued down to Bulli, Appin Rd, Broughton Pass and back through the back of Camden... Then...

I took the Ducati to the Italian motor fest, didn't stay there long, it was hot, looked everywhere for a guy in a railway's shirt, but didn't see him (maybe too late and 11.30??) but, some nice bikes, some nice bambino's too (the car type LOL), then went for a little ride in the breeze... poor Nexus got neglected this weekend!!

I tend to avoid freeways on the Ducati, it's much nicer and fun to take the backroads, although one needs to watch the speed limits (sometimes....)

I have seen more scooters getting about on weekend, good to see, they probably get a fright when I give them a big wave LOL !!

oh -  don't eat pies... funny story, won't tell in (too much) detail, but a long (long) time ago, in a foreign land - I had a meat pie...  bla bla... in the end the pie had something not nice in it...the rest is history, (and a good laugh too!!) the last meat pie I ever had!!!!

    :)

Yup a bit late..the Wife had a bung knee from too much partying with friends at the Catho club the night before(It regularly goes out, since breking it bowling many years earlier)...was there from 9.30 till about 10.30..

There might be a few Ducati riders thinking theres a gay bloke who works in cityrail though, who kept staring at them.

What were the numbers of vehilces like when you were there?? I thought it was a bit sparse

    Red ones go faster...Don't they??
