    Scooter Grants required By Rudd

    Hey your thoughts are welcome,

Instead of rudd giving the largest and most successful Motor company our tax dollars as a gift for the Hybrid Car that most will not update to, the Goverment would have lurred plenty of Motorist out of their cars, and onto effecient scooters, it is not just fuel as we all well know, its roads and traffic and it,s parking, somebody in Goverment needs to get on a scooter, perhaps maybe in  this country, not the odd token ride in an asian country, whilst on a little goverment junket tax payer paid, holiday.

Oh how novel they must feel, watching all those natives in  asian countries neibourhood, what does go through their minds, this may be it:

"I bet they would prefer a Holden ss or Ford Typhoon, hey but they don't have enough money,"

The reality is , if  they where able to purchase these dinosaurs, they would all be stuck in traffic and crawling slower than the londeners and other densly populated countrys, and wouldn't need to park as they would't be moving in the first place..

    • A shift in what is possible, is needed and ought to be encouraged.
    • Do you travell less than 20km a day?
    • do you often commut alone?
    • Do you drive needleesly to find a parking space?
    • Do you suffer stress whist being in Traffic?? The most stress, is in traffic greater ,than that of jumping out of a plan acording to studies done.
    • Would you like a new Vespa, ? perhaps a 300 GT ??

Well simply fill in this form and we will give you......, oh would it be different and nice, and well revoltionary all the saving's on those roads to the suburbs that are like un numbered slow moving, pollution emitting cess pools, that are getting much worse.

Well that my Enviromental message for today.

I will contact the local member.......

Indifferent [:|] Re: Scooter Grants required By Rudd

I totally agree with it your statement , Mr Rudd should put a fund for the development of scooter in the wider community .Huh?

    Confused

The   Hybrid Car  is not always an affordable solution for everyone , cheers.

Mr Kevin Rudd should reconize the scooter as alternative , of transportation to cars .

    cheers .

They give you $2000 if you put your car on LPG - that amount would sway a LOT of people to go scoot and solve a lot of fuel/parking/greenhouse issues!!!

    Bloody good idea!!!!

     What a brilliant idea !!

Although parking might become nightmarish and it might encourage public transport users into scootering,  but never the less I love the idea.

With the Rudd Goverment no being able to get the Luxury Car tax through the senate, thanx F.F it will be a hard slog to get this on through, hey worth a few emails to the right people any way, if this ideal sounds good to you run it by your own local MP's ,  a large ground swell may develope, with grater emphasis on the new range of Electric scooters, I understand Vmoto is to release a new range....

God im sick of this, environmental impact this, carbon trading that.. load of crap in australia.

We are only doing emissions controls to try and get asia to follow suit... Australia makes up an approximate 5 per cent of the worlds emissions, asia on the other hand, makes up almost 63%.

We can cut our emissions to stuff all, wont make a difference.

The environmental impact of building an electric hybrid is crap, because of the extra impact creating lithium ion batteries for them. Solar electricity, another load of crap, the amount of environmental impact is more than the reduction of environmental impact for using a solar panel for 10 years, and produces stuff all electricity.... Dedicated electric vehicles are also useless if you are charging it via a power socket, because as a general rule, the power is coming from a coal powered station....

The govt should be placing a solar hot water system on every house (for people who dont know, these are different to solar electric panels because the water runs through pipes which heat up under the glass to warm the water, as the water heats it enters the tank up the top of the system, when it cools, it drops back down into the pipes to heat up again.. sort of like a solar pool heater.

Wind power, costs a bomb in outlay mainly for a turbine that is capable of producing the amount of power required, and the use of natures resources, but the ongoing costs are reasonably minimal...

Geo Thermal production, being able to heat water to create steam to create upwards pressure to move a "turbine"....  Requires more research, but the theory of pumping sea water into a hole in the ground which is heated by the earth and create upwards steam motion, is reasonably sound.

For scooters on the other hand, electric is useless, as they use it up WAY too quickly.

the way to move a scooter with the least amount of environmental impact, is compressed air.

Really?! In our work carpark one particular green commodore takes up 5 or 6 motorbike/scooter parking spaces (they regularly do this, it's extremely annoying, not to mention rude & selfish). So, if we converted all those single car spaces in the car park to two-wheelers spots, we would have, er, um... 1x6=6, 2x6=12, 3x6=18, 4x6=24, etc

Why a grant though.. incentives would probably be more enticing... scooter riders get cheaper fuel, drop the rego 50% on scooters, etc... Heaps easier for the govt to cut revenue to tax payers than to hand out money to them

and if you put a solar hot water on your roof, you get some rebate too.......

I think it's a great idea and i had the exact same thoughts.....we should lobby Hollie Black, the chairperson for the Australian Scooter Federation (ASF)

It's a privately owned carpark that our workplace rents. They've tried cracking down by sending out shame-mails, but it only works for a few days then some moron in their gas guzzler (usually a V8) parks there again. I know a guy with a big BMW tourer who got jack of it happening & parked someone in one time, that would've required an awful lot of manoeurvring to get out (no damage to his bike). Thankfully, there are also reserved spots under the building & we are all fairly nice about sharing. The courtesy between scooties & bikies makes me feel all warm & fuzzy.
