Well, after 6 weeks with my TGB101S I sold it tonight. I had fitted a Technigas exhaust, pulled the brown wire, rejetted the carb & fitted Malossi springs in the variator. For what it was it went REALLY well - could pull 75km/h with my 105kg on board. Problem was I have 90km/h zones on the way to work. The little blue beast was punchy & fun all the way to 70km/h, but more was needed. A mate has bought it who lives close to the city and it will be ideal for him & the use he will give it. Still put 950km on it in 6 weeks though!! (only really used it the last 3 weeks though after mods were done). The last 2 weeks toughened me up as I am doing 60km round trips for work, and its been either freezing cold (one morning was actually zero degrees!!) or pouring with rain. Can Highly recommend Rjays pants & Jackets, and the thermal gloves the bike shop sold me - under $300 the lot, dry, warm & worth every cent!!
So, what now?? I am picking up a brand new Arqin Sprint 125 tomorrow. Got it spankers for $2200 on the road (only outlaying $100 to "step up"). Have ridden it and will do 100 (quick back off once achieved as engine is tight) with me on it, so at least there is a little in reserve. Once I get it home it will stay in the shed until the end of the month when I do my 2 day rider safe course to get my "L's"!!! (feels weird saying that at 37 years of age!!!) The wife approved the upgrade as it was not "costly". We intend to keep this scooter when I get my next one. My wife has "approved" a Bug XcitingR 500 as soon as I get my licence proper (could ride it on L's under SA LAMS rules) so am looking forward to that!! We will be selling my car to fund that one - I spend all my time in the Falcon alone, so it makes sense to run something cheaper (and more fun!!!) Couldnt get her round the price tag of a Bergman....... Once I get the Bug we will "shed" the arqin for our daughter who turns 16 in 20 months for her first bike. Also means she has to do the rider safe course before she is let loose on the road, which can only be a good thing!!
Basically I am very happy at the moment!!!
