    TGB 303 RS 150

My scooter is a TGB 303 RS 150

It is black and has red wheels. It goes fast and is fun to ride. My helmet dosnt fit in the seat, and i dont like that. But it is still good to scoot on.

     8/10

    Re: TGB 303 RS 150

I have a TGB 303RS 150. I've done around 2500kms on it and had no problems. I bought it second hand with a little under 3,000kms on the clock. It easily keeps up with the traffic and can get off the line at the traffic lights faster than most cars. It's only a WRX or V8 that want a race that I let go as it's easier and safer. I get around 30km/l giving around 180km to the tank before the needle is sitting below 'E' and a theoretical 0.9L left in the tank. I say theoretical as I've never put in more than 5.9L as I don't want to be pushing the scoot if I run out of fuel.

The front brake seems up to the task but the rear drum brake is adequate without being fantastic. It is a drum brake after all. It takes about 1 litre of oil which is easy enough for somebody of my limited mechanical ability to change.

I'm about six feet tall and 95kgs and have no dramas with the seating position. I've ridden for two hours staright a few times around Sydney and found the seat comfortable. It's no maxi but I didn't need to visit the chiropractor afterwards. The headlight is OK around town where there are streetlights. On a dark back road it is underdone but I think this is an issue with a few scooters out there in scooterland. I have and open face helemt which easily fits under the seat with the sunnies, gloves and some space to spare. A full face may fit but I haven't tried one yet. There is no glovebox or any storage in the front. There is only a shopping bag hook.

The engine is common with a few engines in various scooters on the market. It's a 2 vavle GY6 derivitive that I haven't modified in any way. I haven't modified any other aspect of the scooter mainly becasue I was using it a daily ride thus I didn't want to break it. It performs well enough as is but I'm sure it's not the quickest in its class.

In summary I would buy it again if I had my time over.

Thanks Keeper75 - that sounds like a review.

Sounds like it is a more than capable ride Smile

i bought one of these last november...done about 2000 k's on it so far...use it to ride to the city and back from the nth beaches. i double my wife in everyday as well...

only main problem is that when we first bought it. the speedo was about 20lm/h over the limit...it has since had the cable and speedo replaced, right now it is about 10km/h over which is closer, but when you buy a vehicle/motorbike you'd expect the speedo to be accurate to a couple of k's...

its a pretty powerful little thing even with 2 people on it...we get about 130-150 k's out of a tank (2 people the whole time) so its pretty good...

Unfortunately the ADR's only require that the speedo be accurate within +/- 10% Tongue Tied

Hi, we're looking for economical but efficient scooter mechanic in the Inner West of Sydney - have used Scooterino in Homebush, but they were hopeless:( Any ideas??

My dad uses Scooterworld (incorporating Close Motorcycles)  in Regent Street (Cnr Cleveland Street) Redfern about 200m from Redfern station.  He seems to quite like them and claims they are good value.

    Check out their website http://www.scooterworld.com.au/

Lorraine was looking for Inner West,  Cremorne/Manly/Brookvale are all North Shore and probably too far.

I agree with you Lorainne. I asked as simple question about the cooling system on a BUG Orion. I knew the answer but wanted to see what the dealer said. He got it wrong even after referring to his "mechanic". I would have thought the absence of a radiator made it obvious to anybody who is supposed to know their product.

Scooterworld at Redfern seemed better the couple of times I've looked at sccoters in there. Never had a service there though so I can't commment on that aspect.

    Hey Superstar0007

I don't know if you'll check this old post, but thought I'd give it a shot. I bought a TGB 303RS 150 about 2 weeks ago & have since been trying to work out how much the speedo is out by. I'm thinking min. 10kms at 60kph & more like 15-20kms out at 80kph (so I'm going 95kph & my sister reckons I'm lucky to be going 80kph). Glad to see someone else has had a 'possible' 20km out problem, as previously I'd only seen the posts about +/-10% (not that I'm glad for the problem for me or you).

So my question is, was the cable & speedo fixed under warranty? I'm planning to talk to the dealer this week & just want some idea of what to expect. I thought I'd read another post about Aust rules saying the speedo only has to be within 10% of actual speed, but does that mean if I bought a scoot with a dodgy speedo (i.e. 20% out) then legally the dealer/scoot company shouldn't have sold it & therefore should be fixing it??

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Big thanks to filski & tubsta who have already assisted with tips to test my speedo's accuracy.

    hey phillipp,

yep it was all covered under warranty...they first replaced the cable, but nothing changed, then they replaced the whole speedo...its still not 100%, but a lot better...
