    Mr V8:
So how often do you have to fill up from Gold Coast to Sydney?

Filled up 4 times on the way down but this was to clean the screen from bugs, mud, get the rest of my wet weather gear on and stretch my legs.

Only filled up three times on the way back, the bugs were still around but nowhere as bad and the rain got heavy in some areas and washed any mud from the screen.

I wouldn't think of doing this trip without that screen it was great as I was able to leave my visor up for 90% of the journey, only had to partially close it in heavy rain. It also has the bonus of reducing the noise factor dramatically.

The one thing I have noticed with my screen on the Sportcity is that it removes all wind noise, and you can hear your bike.  Now I am hearing things I have never heard before, and I keep thinking "is that normal, should it be making that sound" But it's better than the wind in your face and chest!

    Denni:

    Thanks.

Didn't do anything to the rear guard but it may look different because of the billet steel rego sticker holder that I have had attached below my rego plate.

Oh, OK, maybe that's all it is. Or maybe the 250 and 500 have different size mudguards? Mine seems to drop down lower, covering more of the wheel. Who knows -- maybe it's just my bad eyesight!

No not different, the 'Beo 250ie and 'Beo 500ie share the same rear guard.

The rear wheel on the 'Beo 500ie is 4.50 x 14" where as the 'Beo 250ie is 3.50 x 14"  so this could account for the appearance of a cut down guard.

Have you had the chance to take your 'Beo for a long run yet?

I think your photo is a bit deceptive Denni.  I looked at both, and one seemed that the back flap was shorter.  Just the angle of the pic.  It had me looking at it twice thinking you had dome something, but then I looked again, and realised it was just the photo.

    Hi Denni,

I've gone for some long rides, but they have been big & then bigger circuits of suburbs around where I live. So far I've mainly stayed away from really heavy, fast flowing traffic such as you find on the freeway. I thought I might wait until after the first service before venturing further at high speeds. I've done just over 900kms, so the first service is approaching rapidly.

I guess the rear mudguard thing is just an optical illusion. Just looks shorter & sportier on yours --- of which I definitely approve!

The 500 will be lovely on the open road.

These 'Beo's just get better with more km's on them. I had much better fuel economy on my return trip than on the forward.
