    Aprilia Sportcity One 50cc

Do you know which version of the 50cc Aprilia Sportcity One will be released here, 2 stroke or 4 stroke?

    Quote from European brochure:-

The Sportcity One is equipped with a 125cc cc 4stroke (or 50cc 4-stroke or 2-stroke*) engine with forced air cooling for low consumption and running costs but ample performance for easy riding in city traffic.

    * Available from the end of 2008.

The Sportcity One looks the goods and will be priced right when released but in a 50cc surely the 2 stroke would have been a better proposition for the Aus market due to superior performance (de-restricted) and our less strict emission standards.

    50cc 4 stroke = Yawn!Sleep

Well, you are correct that you aren't getting a performance machine, but if you don't need speed, but want reliability, ultra low fuel costs, less servicing, longer engine life, all without the ning ning ning, then a well made 4-stroke 50cc isn't as bad as you think.    But maybe I'm just getting old.

Yes I hear where you are coming from but they build both the 2 & 4 stroke engine for the Sportcity one to emmission standards & in stock standard form there is now bugger all between a later emmission compliant 2 & 4 stroke engine in terms of on the road performance. Like it or not 4 stroke 50's are here. Could be worse they could have put it in the SR50...... hehehe....

I doubt you are the market Aprilia is going for with this scoot, funnily they already cater for you (Read your username) Big Smile It is a scoot in the two & a half grand bracket aimed at the first scooter buyer with large 14"stable wheels, reliable offering good value for money & like anything adorned with an Aprilia Badge looks great.

I have a feeling this will be the first 4 stroke 50 we'll do a kit for
