Had a great ride today with the Northern Beaches Scooter Crew. Met at Brookvale at 9am after checking out West Head again on the way down. At 7.45 the rangers station was unmanned and I got in free. It was still ummanned at 8.45 It seems that their times are 9 to 4 on a Sunday if you want to try out this wonderful ride without paying $11.

Jax and Peter were back from the Snowy ride and they lead us up the Old Pacific Hwy for coffee at Pie in the Sky at Cowan, for lunch at the Corrigated Cafe at Peats Ridge about 70ks north of Sydney. On the way home we deviated thru Berowra Waters for coffee at Galston, then back to Sydney via Galston Gorge. about 170ks all up.

The group consisted of one Sportscity 250, three Vespa GTS 250's, one Vespa PX 200, one Vespa LX 150, one Burgman 400, one bolwell VS 125 , one Agility 125 and a Yammi road bike.

The things I like about this group of riders.

They are generous with their time and wisdom

They know how to run a ride with flexibility and safety

They accomodate all types of riders and scooters

They know where the best food is served.

They love their scooters and they love to ride.

They're fine company.

It really is wonderful riding in convoy

Sunday Nov 30. Beautiful day for a scoot so I headed off to check out the Five Ferries Run that I'd seen on Motowhere? www.motowhere.com/maps/route/Five-Ferries-Ride. Starts at Berowra. Ride down to Berowra Waters which is the first Ferry.

From Berowra Waters up thru Arcadia, Glenorie and out along Catti Ridge Rd to Wisemans Ferry Rd right to South Maroota then left along Sackville Ferry Rd to Sackville. Sackville Ferry is Ferry No 2

This road is quiet remote and a bit negelected. No towns or service stations.

Just past the Sackville Ferry you turn right for a run along the top of the ridge before dropping down into Lower Portland which is ferry No 3

Then there was a very nice ride along a very narrow road that follows the Hawksbury up to Wisemans.

This is the Webb Creek Ferry that takes you across to the St Albans Rd.

Then back to Wisemans via the Wisemans Ferry, ferry No 5, back up the hill and home thru Galston Gorge to Hornsby. Just over 200k's and over 5 hours

The GTS enjoyed the ride and so did I. There was a wide range of roads and road surfaces plus wonderful views and lots of ferry trips. A thoroughly good run. How sweet it is! We ride "Coz we can"

I was stuck in a meeting yesterday - on the one beuatiful day this week 

We need to organise that same run as a club run - sounds divine.

I can be accused of double posting but here goes.

Next Sunday there is "The Last Ride" to the Road Warrior Cafe which sadly is being forced to close it's doors. The Road Warrior Cafe is a run down joint sitting in the bush by the Old Pacific Hwy North of Sydney run by an old guy called Max. It is a real institution for anyone on two wheels.

Next Sunday Max closes the doors and there will be a "Last Ride" up to the cafe at Mt White. Meeting at the old truck inspection station between Berowra and Cowan at 8.30am. Sydney's "Coz we can" scooterists are meeting there at 9.30 coz we reckon there will be that many bikes they wont get away till then. After that we'll probably head on for a longer ride "Coz we can". Anyone who wants to join up is welcome to come and be a part of Sydneys two wheeling history .

Sunday. Fine and mild. Nice weather after a wet week. Rode up to the Road Warriors Cafe for the "Last Ride" Met at Berowra after all the bikies had departed.
