    First timer

Hi, I'm from Brisbane in Qld...  Looking at buying a scooter...  and have no idea where to start :P:P

Looking at Scooters Scooters (http://www.scootersscooters.com.au) and Valley Moto Scooters (http://www.valleymotoscooters.com.au/)..  I don't have a motorcycle license, So I've gotta stick to 50CC...  Valley Moto told me to have a look at the Benelli Pepe 50, TGB 101S & Vmoto Monza...  I also like the sound of a Vespa (what's the difference between the S50 and the LX50??)

Any more advice would be helpful I'm male, about 80kg and 180cm..  Hopefully I can join some Qlders on a future group ride (Although I wouldn't be able to get on the high way with it :P)

    Thanks

    Angus

    Thanks Dak.

We also have Daelim. For Brisbanites who make the trip, we deliver free to most of Brissie & back it up with mobile servicing.

I like the sounds of it...  What are your trading hours HQ??  Might pop down next weekend or the weekend after :-)

Any makes or models worth looking up??  It's moreso cause I'm sick of public transport and for zipping around the city on weekends more than anything else...

Think I'm needing something along the lines of:

    • 2 Seater (Handy if I gotta take the gf anywhere)
    • Storage (For the helmet...  I DJ a bit so somewhere to chuck a CD wallet and headphones would be handy as well)
    • 180cm, my weight fluctuates a bit but generall around 80kgs...

Oh... and I like coffee :P

    Thanks for the advice :-)

Coffee? No gimmicks here guys. Anyway there is a coffee shop across the road & another better one 50m up the road. I guess we could look after you with a coffee.

What style are you into Retro or Sports? Any indication of budget & any hills about?

    Sounds good :P

Ummm.. There's a couple of hills around but nothing big...  Probably retro I reckon, budgets probably 4K or so...  I got a pretty good tax return this year :-)

    Re: First timer

The best thing to do, is get to HQ, and get your bum on every 50cc bike he has there.  You will find that is the best way to determine what bike is for you.

I bought my Bee Wee from looking at Scooter Magazine, and got my dealer to get it in site unseen.  I am just lucky that this scooter suited me.  Not everyone can do that!

And mentioning Scooter Magazine, the new issue has just come out, so go pick up a copy, it's a great resource.

OK... Think I've got my heart set on a

    Retro styled scoot..

With a budget of 4K ish you have plenty of choice. Basically you've got the entry level budget Retro's like the Chinese QJ manufactured Pepe & Milan, then mid range like the SYM Retro & Mio 50, then high end stuff like the Vepsa LX & Aprilia Mojito. If you are 80kg & want to carry somone else the physically larger & Piaggio engined LX & Mojito would be the best bet. Add a pipe & it will do the job no worries.

    If I had 4K & wanted to get onto a Retro I'd go a Mio 100 & licence.
