IF its Chinese , Taiwanese , or an asian breed xcept the reputable Jappers ........ stay well away from them ............

I used to own a Taiwanese built Bug Bandit,  it was a great scoot,  very reliable and never had any issues,  even the speedo was accurate.

I just bought a SYM VS 125 a couple of days ago .... put about 80 kms on her today ... so much fun heh heh heh ....  then my tank cleared out.  Dealer gave me a full tank or I think it's a full tank ..... do you know how many kms the VS 125 actually do before drying up?? What does a full tank really give??

My last vehicle was a Ford Explorer ..... 4.0L beast ..... takes $100 a week .... you should see my face when I was looking for change to pay for my fuel ..... I can't believe it .... $6!!!!  hahahahaaa   Still, I dun really know how many kms can a tank go .... anyone??

You should be getting at least 25k/l minimum. Ive heard the VS can get a bit thirsty especially if you're riding with full throttle. how many litres does your tank hold?

Re: SYM VS 125 - My On Going Review

    Nice review Smile

I think the tank can hold up to 5.8L. I normally get 25-26km/L city driving, running around 40~60kph average speed, there's too much traffic in our country everyday. I did manage to get 30km/L when we had a long ride last Sunday.. around 150km back and forth. Still wondering if this is normal. BTW I'm using SYM Excel II which is exactly the same as the VS, though I have the 150cc version. I'm just wondering what other options do they offer on the VS that is not on the Excel version. Just let me know if you'd want me to share some pics or just create a new thread for this.Zip it!

I've been using it for about a year..and man I'm loving it! Demi-jet helmet fits perfectly, though modular helmets will fit too. Just need to push the seat harder.

    Cheers.

Re: SYM VS 125 - My On Going Review

Firstly... I want to thank everyone for reveiwing this bike well... :D This forum helped me make my decision on getting the VS125..

Last Saturday I bought a second-hand white VS125 2008 model with 3yrs warranty left. Only had 249ks. So far I've clocked over 900ks in a week but this is only due to over-excitement with ma new toy and christmas travelling from Katoomba in the Blue Mountains up-to Kurri Kurri near Maitland/ Newcastle area.. I live in the mountains and was trying to find a scoot that would handle well with hills, high winds and wet weather.. In this one week, travelling about, this VS has been on/in most weather conditions except snow.. Now, I'm only on my L's so 80's top speed for me tho this bike will sit on 90 no worries... I originally thought I was only able to ride upto a 160cc bike on my L's then found out later I could have upto 250cc. Riding on the F3 I wish I had a 250cc but I'm not as fussed because i'm on my L's.

I read one-time that someone was getting rain water in the headlights and suggested extra sealing.. well I agree with this but its really only a problem if the bike is PARKED IN THE RAIN. Just like a helmet the bikes panel edging (around the headlights) are designed so the water runs off  the edges instead of running inside the bike. Also someone also said, being tall, its hard to use the rear-view mirrors.. My mate thats over 6foot said the same and they would be better having longer arms. I'm only 5' 7". Mirrors are fine for mee :D  The storage in this bike is awesome, especially having the Top Box attached.. My whole world fits in. Under the seat you can fit a small helmet easy plus other stuff.. My Medium helmet still fits but I have to push harder down on the seat to lock it :) i tend to use  the top box for helmet storage anyways... more room under seat for comfortable clothing..

I feel really safe at night on the VS.. LED tail-lights that sit up higher than some other scooters.. The headlights are quite bright especially highbeam.. On the great western highway in the mountains theres sections that have no street lights at all only reflectors. Normal lights only light up about 1 -2 seconds in front of the scoot which i dont like that much but you see its necessary while travelling in traffic. The highbeam lights up about 10 seconds in front... big difference i think.. Oh and the blinkers are great too... really bright..

I left Katoomba about 4pm the 23rd, a storm rolling in from the south-west... Warm sunny day otherwise... heading down the mountain for the first time, soo much fun..  The Highways quite bendy all the way down.. I was sort of nervous starting off but by half way down I felt great.. The bike handled great on corners all the way down.. The rear brake is quite loose but i like this because i use this brake more for slowing down rather than stopping.. The front brake is tight as, brillant!  As I hit the bottom of the Mountain through glenbrook and lapstone the highway goes straight onto the M4. Sitting on 85, the bike was doing well keeping up with the flow.. The wind on the M4 was amazing... not from the trucks or cars but just the wind gusting across the motorway.. I felt abit uneasy with the wind hitting me from my right-hand side with the motorway being built on a slight slope, the bike kept getting pushed to the left of the road abit so i got off at Rooty Hill and got back onto the Great Western Highway which was alot better but then had to deal with traffic lights.. :(  On Pennant Hill road I had heaps of fun.. by the time I reached the freeway at hornsby I felt comfy travelling in traffic goin 80k on bends and changing lanes in traffic.. The VS definatly keep up with traffic.. I decided to stay on pennant hills rd and went straight through hornsby into berowa along the Old Pacific Highway through Cowan then onto the F3. I wasnt sure about taking the F3 after using the M4 but I did anyway.. I wanted to most direct root to newcastle... The seat on the VS is really comfy too .. I can sit for an hr and a half b4 I need to have a stretch..  So I'm sitting on the F3, goin 90ks, trucks flying past and faster bikes and wasn't even being affected by the wind.. then on a hill goin down, this truck zooms by then all of a sudden this huge gust of wind comes from behind and next thing i'm sitting on 110ks.. I didnt encounter any wobbling so that was fine.. Going across the hawksbury brige I had wind hit me from the right hand side again which was pushing me closer to the railing but survived :O The next bridge was the Mooney Mooney Brigde so i was debating a detour.. ha!  I went across it noworries hardly any wind at all...  As I took the exit for Kurri Kurri the sun was pretty much all the way down and that storm finally caught upto me.. It was pouring down hardcore, hardly any street lights around... Rode with the highbeam as much as possible.. this was my first time riding at night and it was storming...  the bike (and I) pulled out ok tho...  From Katoomba To Kurri Kurri I spent $7 in petrol... how awesome!    The ride home was great, a nice sunny day with hardly any wind I spent $8 in petrol..  $15 over 3 days..  and thats about 500+ kms..

Well I have no complaints at all/ so far with this bike... leaning into corners with this bike is great.. A quality scoot I think! Definatly worth the money.. My bikes up for its first service and I cant wait!  When I first took this scooter out, I whacked on the throttle and then started looking around for that guy with the whipper snipper... but it was my scooter.. ha! I will let you know when I get the bike serviced how its going!

    Justin..

For Bolwell VS 125 2008 model, do they have digital instrumental panels + analog rev meter?

This is what I've found on the SYM site:

Top read Sketch. You've obviously got the touring gene. Its fun touring on a 125. The amazing thing is that for 98% of the trip they can hold their own, especially a quality scoot like the Daelim or the VS. One of the Peter's in "Coz We Can' rides one and most of the time he can pretty well keep up with the 250's. I agree the VS has one of the brightest taillights on the road. Good choice. Enjoy!

PS HQ's tips are generally on the money
