main jet for Bolwell Gypsy / PGO PMX50 with big-bore kit

I need a larger main jet for the 65cc kit waiting to be installed.

Except that I have no idea what size the original is, what size I should install, and where to get it.

Suggestions would be much appreciated.  (Bike is currently all stock, but earlier 2001 model.)

    Thanks in advance, George

Bolwell (now 'Select') carry a range of jets to suit, so your local Select dealer will be able to get a couple in for you. If you are doing your own engine work, then splash out on a couple different jets (always handy to have in the tool box) that way you can experiment and tune. If you are having your kit fitted by the dealer, they should be able to tune it all for you.

If you can pull your current jet out, you'll see a size stamped on it...

Thanks for this, great info.  Which aftermarket carb did you put on, and did you mod the exhaust ?

    Hey George

I'm not sure what the carby was off cause i got it secondhand, all i know it's a Mikuni carby and its 15mm and when i got it, it had a 75 main jet which was too small so i put a 90 in it and then it went very well. It had a Gianelli carbon fibre reverse pipe on it. Sounded sweet when it was on song!!!!

    Thanks

    Nielo
