Hi PP, I tried on loads of  helmets before I discovered there is a junior range. However only a few brands make them. Mine is HJC. I believe in motor X styles they have more but junior size road helmets are harder to find. I'm very happy with mine and it fits perfectly. A bit alarming to discover my head is only junior size S/M, but I'm coping. AND it fits under the seat. The colour is black/white/grey flaming sort of style in a matt finish, which, much to my delight isn't as slippery as a gloss finish. Therefore when you're holding your helmet under your arm or between your knees as is sometimes the case it stays put!

Good luck with the lid search. If you wear glasses/sunglasses when you ride take them and put them on when you're trying on helmets.

    Cheers

The Batmobile had its first service today (500kms) and also had a new speedo installed (wow, magically disappearing kms - clever scoot). Not sure if the speedo is working properly (or at least better than the old one) yet, will have to try & test it tomorrow - if it's not bucketing down & if I can convince one of my other 2- or 4-wheeler friends to ride/drive along next to me. I'm guessing from the cars zooming past me at the 80kph speed camera on my way back from the workshop that perhaps my speedo is still out...I was 'possibly' going about 90kph.

Anyhow, the main reason for the post is to re-confirm how much I like my scoot. I had a loaner for the day & apart from a seemingly smoother throttle and a dash clock (with the wrong time on it!), I liked everything else on it less (or far less) than my TGB.

    • Pick-up from the lights, okay not great, not sure what that shuddering feeling was?
    • Pick-up from 60 to 80kph slow - hello 4WD sitting right on top of me
    • Above 80kph - forget it if you have a slight incline (really, I'm not that heavy).

It was a 125cc, but still, I thought it would perform better, especially as I have read many good reviews from people who ride the same scoot.

The seating position was terrible, sit in the wrong spot & have a bump up your a$$. Sit in the right spot & reach out and down for the levers - felt like Lurch! The seat was also sooo much wider than my TGB, so despite the scoot being a bit shorter than mine, I had to slide over to the left when I pulled up at the lights just to get my foot on the ground. Wasn't sure what all the light switches were for and couldn't find a kill-switch (don't think there was one). Finally, unlocking the seat didn't make the seat pop up & then the seat was prone to falling back down.

yo watch out when you fill up at the servo in the rain, don't let water run down your jacket and into the fuel tank!

i have just learnt from experience. the scooter stalled and wouldn't run again. had to get towed to mechanic....it cost me 200 bucks to flush out whole fuel system. scooters don't tolerate much water in their drink at all.

done over 4000km now, and as you can see the only problem with it is me :D

So filski, sounds like you are enjoying your scoot then (aside from that oops-water in petrol thing)?! Thankfully the servo I usually go to is covered & I will now try to avoid filling up in the rain.

I'm up around the 1,000km mark now (actually probably more like over it, but it's a bit of an estimate, due to that little speedo glitch). Can't believe how many kms I've done in such a short space of time. The scoot that Sissy just bought had something around 2,000kms on it & was over a year old!

I hope you continue to enjoy yours, like I enjoy mine. More pics would be good too!
