    TGB R50X

Hey everyone looking to buy a scooter since cops put a yellow sticker on my car. In particular i have the R50X in mind. I been reading on this site about de-restricting it but no has really said in detail how to do it. Does any one know in Perth where i could take this scooter to have it de-restricted? A shop maybe in Perth. Also where can u purchase the Derbi GP1 in Perth and whats da price Tag?

    Re: TGB R50X

Hi gsourze, I happen to have an R50X which I would like to sell.  I am also in Perth, and the bike has been modified somewhat, maybe too much for your requirements.  It low kms, 1600 from memory, the bike is at my factory so can't verify the kms, has been de-restricted, has had a 70cc bore and piston kit fitted(50cc bore and piston are still in my possesion) has also got a multi-variator and a speed pipe(orriginal exhaust pipe and vatiator available).  The bike is red in colour, in very good condition, and I have just registered it for twelve months.  Reason for selling: I have two other scooters, a Piaggio X9 500cc and a CFMotto 250cc V3 and also a VT 750 C2 Honder motor bike, can't ride them all.

Oh cool so for how much you selling it for? I need something quick like right away and that 70 cc kit sounds nice. I have to catch public transport atm, not really convenient. Cant decide between a new one and a second hand one. Let me know on da price and maybe we could negotiate something. What are da exact kms that it has crossed?

And where did u get dat 70cc kit if i was to buy a new one...let me kno!

I am also north of the river, the bike is in my factory in Malaga.  I will get back to you on Monday night re kms.  I'm looking to get around $2000 for the bike which includes all the original parts, if you want to take it back to standard and two open faced helmets(1 large and 1 small), and security lock cable.  There is also a cover, in worn condition I will give away with the scoot. I will also throw in a can of Auto Glim Instant Bike Shine, which I use on all my bikes and it keeps them in showroom condition.

    I will be in touch

Apparently I called scootamoto in Ozzie Park (Perth) and asked them about it. They said that they can do it there, but don't like doing it and it voids your 3 yr warranty on the TGB R50X. Watto got his from there but with previous owners. I called and said I am looking for the performance parts as i want to use it for racing on track. Am gonna call them again to ask and give me a run down on the prices of the parts. Watto claims it made a big improvement....u can get a 70 cc kit for it, performance exhaust and variation kit for faster acceleration...maybe more things

yes the previous owners used to do some performance parts for 50cc scooters.

if it is for racing then that is ok because it will be illegal to ride on the road

straight roads just connect the corners

Heya i went there and had a chat with them they can do it and will cost around $1000 including parts and fitting (70cc kit, Variator and performance exaust). I dont think it would be much of a problem riding it even if it is, dont think the cops will notice unless you being stupid and strange around them...and u get to keep your original parts so no problem....the guys in Ozzie Park recmoended to have your first service 500ks then upgrade it if you want to...!

Hope to get my TGB R50X this coming week or if not then very soon!

PS. They said that in WA by law scooters are not restricted and else where in other states they are and when he sells it me it will be de-restricted with warranty!

"LA" class are restricted under federal law,  and in derestricted form it will no longer comply with the Australian Design Rules under which the compliance plate was fitted.

Simply put, federal law takes precedence over state law, so if you do "de-restrict" your scoot for road use,  you are breaking the law.

De-restricting any 50cc scooter in Australia is illegal.

Am sorry man I knew i should have but i didnt know how to say no cuz u were so helpful, so i felt bad for sayin no. I like your scooter but i feel its better to get a new one as i will be using it a lot so when time comes i can sell it like you are selling yours $2000 and up. Also am not dat close to my cousin as i could be so he would never come and have a look at it. If i was in a better situation than i am now "looking to buy a scooter just for fun" and have a car and everything I would purchase yours with out doubt, but unfortunatley I am not in that situation and this scooter will be for everything....even if this crazy weather changes and it happens to snow i will still ride it to get to somewhere i need to no matter how far away it is....i hope you understand. I have to think about the future!

Once again thak you so much for the offer, I apprichiate it and am sure you will sell it soon; the bike is in excelent condition.

PS. The guys in the shop said a totaly different story
