Well, Rob now firstly just letting you know how grateful I am to have experienced your lightning bandits especially the gorgeous Budgie of Zoom. But hopefully if we get to race again, I'll be "hopefully" pitting my Jives against your bandits..... You better star trembling but not with fear but excitement 'cause it's gonna rock....

hey rob, It's still a bit wet here. I went further south when it was flooding around this area, and after a day or two of rain, the sun appeared and it was great for a few days. But back here the rainfall was pretty much non-stop. I have family in Murwillumbah and they copped a lot of rain over there. Kingscliff wasn't to bad. If it floods at my place, that means that a Tsunami has hit....so i'm hoping that never happens...

Rob, I have seen Firefly's up at D'aguilar state forest near Mt Mee before & was told they like to come out after rain.

Pretty special though & they seem to make perfectly normal adults into excited small children very quickly.

Haven't seen them in the Gold coast hinterland yet, but we do get Glow worms.

Yeah....still short of the clay stuff, locally. Resigned to expensive crystals for a while.

Was thinking of you when the rain moved south & flooded the Tweed Valley area.

Any probs for you?

It's still "soggy as" here....nearly bogged the car a few times.

Had a firefly glowing about in the dark a few nights back....was pretty cool....1st time seen one in this country. Looked like a single Xmas flickering light bulb......then when it flew it'd be even brighter, but glow continuously with a green LED-type display luminescense & almost the intensity of a single small bulb.

The kitty litter story was hilarious Rob....hope things are starting to dry out.... Good luck spotting those UFO's....got me thinking that the shooting star I saw last week may have been something else....(insert music from Close Encounters here....)

Forgot to add that I'd lowered the front end of the seat by an inch to make a similar angle to the Monza.

The new seats worked out well. Encouraged us to a forward riding position for balancing out the cornering weight & manouverbility.

All I'd done is to cut out a large crescent shape out of the bucket, & then with the cutout pieces made some plastic straps & bolted them across the cut.

I still think the seats need to be narrower, but not yet figured out how to go about this other than completely making a custom seat.

Yes it works good.

They've open like the bottom most picture for quite some months. Increased vents last week, & Shelley's had some rides into town.

Shelley was thinking some stainless mesh over them to help protect.

Your riding would be completely different from ours.

We rarely venture into town (you can tell by Shelley's affinity with grass, eh? :)

Mine gets through belts because it's the Guinea pig.

Also my bike had a gearbox problem that was giving out a red herring seize.....me thinking the seize was from the engine when in fact it was the final drive gearbox.

The life of my bike compared to Shelley's had been harsh: abusive even. Hooning around our paddock 2-up......this was before they became Malossi-pimped racing bikes. :)

I'm presently resolving an issue with parts compatibility to get some new gears & bearings in the final drive, & then it should be right.

I'll post "New Gears" adventures in following posts.

Good stuff Rob. I have modded mine a little, but was a little apprehensive to open up the front like that, due to possible road debris.

Let us know if its works, because I know your Bandit is Hungry for belts.
